Two Person Shower Design

The master bathroom is usually the largest bathroom in the home and for good reason. With two people using it you need enough space for both of them to store their essentials and to fit at one time. This amount of space gives couples the ability to install a double sink, a whirlpool bathtub, or even a two person shower.

A two person shower design is considered to be the most luxurious and romantic. These are designed to provide enough space for two people to use the water at the same time. This will require the use of plumbing on two walls that are usually set on the opposite side from each other.

How To Design

When designing this you first need to measure the dimensions of the area in the bathroom that you want to put it. All of these measurements need to be recorded onto graph paper using the one-quarter inch scale per foot. In this drawing you should include any doors, windows, and fixtures.

Put a piece of tracing paper over the graph and redraw the shape of the new bathroom. The new shower should be at least four feet wide and six feet long. You can have it longer – but not so much that there is too much space too share.

Use a pencil to mark where each shower head will be put. These fittings need to create a center line on the wall. You can mark this line using tracing paper.

With a new sheet of graph paper, draw all of the walls of the new two person shower design. Draw a center line from each wall unless you notice a anything that is creating asymmetry in the shower already. With this wall the tallest sections will be used for shelving.

For this type of shower you will want to use a glass wall with a door that will open and close. This makes it more romantic and a bit more private than an open door. The door should be centrally located to prevent any water from escaping. You can also place the door on the side and the shower heads on the back wall next to each other.
