Outdoor Shower Design

As children we dream of the day when our parents will finally move into a home with a pool in the backyard. It didn’t matter if it was an inground or above ground pool so long as we could soak in it and cool off from the hot sun. Nowadays most of the homes that are build have a pool in the backyard or even a lake or pond.

The great thing about having these nearby is that they provide us with some much needed cooling off time. But what would make them even better is to have an outdoor shower design. With one of these at our homes or even at the campsite we would find it easier to wash off before going inside.

Outdoor Shower Enclosures

Portable showers are some of the best designs because they allow you to move them easily and without any hassle and for an affordable price. They are made with PVC – which is weather resistant, durable, and lightweight. These characteristics make it the ideal material for outdoor water systems.

The schedule 40 PVC grade is one of the more popular and much better then the 110 grade. However, for the best in strength and durability you will want to use the schedule 80. When taking care of the piping you want to make sure that you use the kind that are larger in diameter and strong. These will provide you with enough water pressure to wash any sand or dirt off of you. The three inch quarter pipes are some of the best.

Stationary Outdoor Shower

The most common types of stationary outdoor shower design are cemented directly to the deck of the pool. These cost a great deal of money to install and use metal materials to hold it firmly in place. It is not uncommon to spend thousand of dollars on just one shower – but this price will vary depending on the materials you use.

Some people will try to make the outdoor shower design both useful and decorative by using a stainless steel exterior that sits around the piping. If you do not mind the piping being exposed then you could save hundreds of dollars.

Outdoor Shower Enclosures

Enclosure outdoor shower designs are perfect for couples looking for something fun and romantic. To help keep the floor dry you need to provide some type of ventilation for air to flow freely inside. High quality wood is the most common material used for these structures. Vinyl and glass blocks are also considered although they can be more expensive.
